FAQ
Does WMC accept insurance?
Wise Mind Counseling is an out-of-network practice and does not accept insurance directly. However, we’re happy to provide a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
If you’d like, we can also provide the necessary information ahead of time so you can check your out-of-network benefits and get a better sense of your potential reimbursement before getting started.
Many clients receive partial reimbursement, often around 50–70%, depending on their plan.
Is WMC LGBTQ+ Affirming?
Yes! All services at WMC are LGBTQIA+ affirming.
As a queer-owned practice, creating a space that feels genuinely safe, inclusive, and respectful is central to the work we do. You don’t have to explain or justify your identity here. You’re welcome as you are.
Do the groups have a start and end date?
All groups have an open enrollment format, which means you can join at any time and stay as long as it feels helpful. There’s no long-term commitment. The goal is for you to get what you need without added pressure.
Does WMC have in-person services?
At this time, all services are offered virtually.
Can I engage in a DBT Skills group with WMC and continue seeing my current therapist?
Yes, absolutely. If you have a healthy and effective relationship with your therapist, there’s no need to stop seeing them. DBT skills groups are meant to complement the work you’re already doing in individual therapy, not replace it. If you’d like, you can sign a consent form so your therapist and your WMC provider can collaborate and keep your care aligned.
