Hello! I'm Megan

Hi! My name is Megan Magruder and I facilitate WMC's BPD Family & Friends Support Group, as well as the upcoming Time-Limited Holiday Grief Support Group! The areas I have a background and interest in include: grief & bereavement, medical social work, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, the microbiome and mental health, and substance use. I am incredibly passionate about supporting individuals and families! In my downtime, you can find me watching Gilmore Girls reruns, going for hikes, and enjoying a good book!

My Story

Megan grew up in St. Louis, Missouri with her family and two cats. After college on the East Coast, Megan moved to New York City where she grew passionate about finding effective tools to support mental health. Her passion developed from working in a pro-bono legal setting and with those experiencing houselessness in New York City.

Megan graduated from Columbia University with a master’s degree in clinical social work and policy. She started off by working for a substance use outpatient with Wise Mind. Megan was inspired by Lexi’s mission to create a team of passionate mental health providers to offer support to people pursuing their goals and creating the life they desire.

Megan now lives in Palo Alto, California, and works as a grief and bereavement clinical social worker in the hospital setting as well as with Wise Mind as a therapist. Megan is looking forward to providing quality mental health support as a team member of WMC
